Let’s have a look at this story !!
Once there lived a woodcutter who earned his living by cutting wood from the nearby forest. He used to go to the forest every morning and spend whole day in cutting the tress and selling it in the nearby village. He had a little son who would request his father to accompany him every day so that he can also inherit his father’s skill. The father did not agree.
He had his own reasons for hesitation. Forest, is totally an unsafe place for children. Wild animals majorly were a big threat. He thought that his son was too young and be scared of them. He needs to learn a lot of self defense techniques to protect himself from them. Also , he had a strong faith that his son might not have attained the right age to learn any of these.
One day, the woodcutter came home severely hurt as his axe had fallen on his leg by mistake. Next day, he couldn’t even lift his leg.
A week passed and couldn’t recover completely from his injury. His family started starving as there was absolutely no income. Seeing the plight of the parents, the little son again requested his father to go to forest for cutting wood. Now the woodcutter had no other option, but to permit his son.
The whole day, he kept on worrying about his son thinking how could the small boy manage everything. To his surprise, his little son returned home with comparatively lesser money but with lots of cuts and bruises all over his body.
He felt very sorry for his son. Late in the evening the dad started taking to his son about his experiences in the forest the whole day. The son shared him all the details and finally ended up saying, ” Dad,I don’t feel anything bad about my tough experiences in the forest today. Yet, had you taken me with you a few times without bothering too much about my age, I woudn’t have faced this many problems. I was completely confused right from choosing the right path. A small guidance from you would have helped me a lot today. Anyway, I am determined to go to forest everyday “.
The Father felt very embarrassed.
