I have a real experience for  you shared by one of our students, who is 50 yrs  now.

She was born in an Orthodox Vaishnava family and lived near Chitrakulam , Mylapore when she was young. Her family neither worshipped Shiva nor  visited any Shiva temple even though they lived near Shri Kabaleeshwarar temple. Yet, she  started growing up listening to Shri Rudram, Lingashtakam,  Kanda Sashti  kavacham etc played every day near the temple. Without any effort, the above slokas got registered in her mind.

When she was in her  9th std, her father had his job transferred to OOTY, a  famous hill station in Tamil Nadu. They were living in a upper Conoor near Ooty and she had to attend her music classes in lower Conoor. one evening, she got slightly delayed in her class and  by the time the class ended darkness had already set in. so she started  rushing to her home.

Her house was slightly far from her class and she walked swiftly. The road was completely isolated and she started fearing and shivered . To her dismay , she saw two young men following her from a distance. She started running &  the youth started chasing her.

Ooty, being a hilly terrain, she could not run very fast. out of fear, she started chanting ” Sri Kanda Sashti Kavacham ” automatically. It was the first time she was chanting that sloka in her life.

To her surprise, she came across a Toda ( tribal) couple approaching her. The Toda man enquired her why she was running and she narrated her above ordeal.

Immediately , the man asked her to hold both of their hands tightly and walk along with them until they leave her in her house safely. She, without any hesitation followed his instruction and started walking along with them.

All along, he was enquiring about her studies and music class and finally they reached her house.

The Toda couple bid her goodbye. She simply watched them going and disappearing in the darkness. Slowly something stuck her mind. She started guessing whether actually the Toda couple were real humans or God Muruga himself came with his wife Valli in a human form just to save a young girl, who chanted it just once, that too when she got into trouble.

Isn’t it amazing….Yes, If we have belief , Gods definitely saves us during difficult times and rescues us.
